This is a follow up to our previous post about our manufacturer not producing white maternity shirts again until April 2012. The customer whose order was affected by this was very understanding and decided to let us fulfill the order using a pink shirt instead of a white one. We are still working on updating any pink graphics that were intended for white shirts, so that they will also look good on a pink shirts. Over time we have found that our customers are very understanding whenever there is a problem with an order. We have never had someone cancel an order, customers always seem to want to get their shirt even if there is a delay or other problem.

funny maternity shirt production issues

Here is a look into a production issue that we recently had with an order. Last week someone ordered two maternity shirts, one was in white and the other one was pink. We submitted the order to production and found out that our wholesaler only had the pink shirts in stock. This happens from time to time and if we wait a few days the wholesaler get more in and the order gets processed. But after 5 days when the wholesaler still did not have any whites available I knew something was wrong.

I then had to contact the manufacturer and found out that they will not be manufacturing any more white Maternity shirts until April 2012. YIKES. (We created a website whose primary focus is Maternity clothes and white shirts will not even be manufactured again until April 2012)

This creates a couple of problems:
1. The customer won’t be able to get the color shirt that they just ordered and may cancel the order.
2. We have to update our website so that people don’t have the option to choose the shirt color white
3. Since only pink shirt are available, we will have to update several shirt graphics so that they look good on a pink shirt. (For example a number of our shirt graphics have pink in them and would not be very visible on a pink shirt). Therefore we will need to update these graphics from pink to another color (Updating these graphics is going to take a lot of work)

Happy New Year! Exciting things are happening this year. First the urbanmist.com website was finally completed by our web designer at the end of 2011.This took much longer than expected but we are so happy that it is done. Also toward the end of 2011, we had the opportunity to open a retail store in New York City. This store is only 50 square feet and may be the world’s smallest clothing store in the world. If you are in the Greenwich Village then please stop by, we are on 131 Christopher Street (which is on the corner of Hudson and Christopher). However, please do not blink because we are the world’s smallest store and you may walk right past if you blink.

Now that the site is done and the retail store is up we can get back to focusing on what we love which is making great baby shirts , and funny maternity shirts Designed by urbanmist.com

Babies don’t have a choice as to what they are going to wear. It’s up to the parents to have good taste.

Parents that buy our cute baby tops, typically have very good taste.

They have good taste in food, wine & clothes.

Last year, we sold over 8 zillion shirts to happy customers. Well, they weren’t ALL happy but that’s ok.

We accept grumpy customers as well. In fact, we were the first website on the internet that accepted grumpy customers.

In fact, we were the first site on the internet PERIOD.
